Finger Holds for Daily Self Help


Holding the individual fingers or in sequence clears, balances and harmonises energy circulation in the body.

Each of the fingers will harmonise a different aspect of the energetic body and body function energy.


The Attitudes:

Worry; Fear; Anger; Grief (sadness) and Pre-tense ('Trying-To', cover-up) are all results of disharmony and run down ‘individualised’ energy. Fear is at the core of all of the Attitudes.

Attitude: A fixed emotional response such as habitual worry, fear, anger, sadness and ‘trying-to’.

Attitude definition: a settled way of thinking or feeling about something;

Manner, disposition, feeling, position etc with regard to a person or thing;
Tendency or orientation, especially of the mind.


Each of our thumbs and fingers is related to a specific Attitude. That’s why daily self-help is so important for maintaining balance. Practice the simple holds while sitting, lying down, or standing. Accustom yourself to holding a finger whenever your hands are free.


You can apply a quick (single) hold or a sequence of holds. If time permits, both left and right sequences can be applied. If not, focus on the more tense side of need. If unsure, hold the side which comes naturally.


Remember the Breath. Drop the shoulders, relax, exhale - unloading from head to toes. Then inhale, receive from toes to head in the abundance of the purified Breath of Life. When you become aware of a rhythmic pulse in your thumb, fingers, or palm simply move to the next step.


Note: there is no set way to hold the thumb or fingers. You can hold for thirty-six breaths, nine breaths, or 2-3 minutes per hold, or longer if you wish. You will find your own comfortable way, your natural hold.


Holding the Thumb

Attitude level: Worry (depression; hate; obsession; anxiety; self-protection)

How to Harmonise:

Quick hold: for overcoming the ‘Worry’ Attitude, wrap the left thumb and fingers around the right thumb, and then the right thumb and fingers around the left thumb.


Full sequence: wrap the right thumb and fingers around the left thumb, then middle finger, finishing on the little finger. Repeat on the other side.


This sequence can help the following:

Ability to let go of the past and move forward

Skin Surface

Digestion (including sugar cravings)

Clears and transform the mind

Self-esteem, feeling secure

Weight balance (overweight or underweight)

Nervous system

Sleep imbalances (too much or not enough)

Speech (those who talk too much or those who don’t talk at all)

Excessive yawning


Holding the Index Finger

Attitude level: Fear (timidity; mental confusion; depression; perfectionism;
frustration; desire for life (when you are feeling a lack)

How to Harmonise:

Quick hold: for overcoming the ‘Fear’ Attitude, wrap the left thumb and fingers around the right index finger and then the right thumb and fingers around the left index finger.


Full sequence: wrap the right thumb and fingers around the left thumb, then index finger, finishing on the little finger. Repeat on the other side.


This sequence can help the following:

Adrenals

Addictions

Muscle, neck and shoulder aches and pains

Back projects

Blood balance (all aspects)

Hormonal balance

Strengthen immunity

Ear (same side) and teeth (opposite side) discomfort

Hot feet

Sneezing

Nose bleeds


Holding the Middle Finger

Attitude level: Anger (irritable; cowardly; indecisiveness; unstable; not alert; emotional)
Harmonises Gall Bladder and Liver energy functions


How to Harmonise:

Quick hold: for overcoming the ‘Anger’ Attitude, wrap the left thumb and fingers around the right middle finger and then the right thumb and fingers around the left middle finger.


Full sequence: wrap the right thumb and fingers around the left little finger, then ring finger, finishing on the middle finger. Repeat on the other side.


This sequence can help the following:

Headaches (migraine)

Eye and vision projects

Blood disorders

Immune system

Lymphatic system

Respiratory and breathing

Coughing

Holding the Ring Finger

Attitude level: Grief, Sadness (negative; mucus forming; lack of common sense)

Harmonises Large Intestine and Lung energy functions


How to Harmonise:

Quick hold: for overcoming the ‘Grief’ Attitude, wrap the left thumb and fingers around the right ring finger and then the right thumb and fingers around the left ring finger.


Full sequence: wrap the right thumb and fingers around the left thumb, then index finger, middle finger, finishing on the ring finger. Repeat on the other side.


This sequence can help the following:

Neck

Breathing, Asthma

Deep skin projects (connective tissue)

Bowel project

Aligns the back

Legs and spine

Clears headaches

Throat

Dizziness

Central nervous system

Holding the Little Finger

Attitude level: Pretense, 'Trying-To' (crying on the inside and laughing on the outside;
insecure; nervous; confused)

Harmonises Small Intestine and Heart energy pattern.


How to Harmonise:

Quick hold: wrap the left thumb and fingers around the right little finger and then the right thumb and fingers around the left little finger.


Full sequence: wrap the right thumb and fingers around the left little finger, then ring finger. Repeat on the other side. 


This sequence can help the following:

Skeletal system

Nerves

Sore throat

Blood pressure and blood circulation

Sleep disorders

Calms the mind

Heart projects (especially the left little finger)

Holding the Palm

No Attitude at this level: Clears all of the Attitudes

Harmonises Umbilicus and Diaphragm energy functions


How to Harmonise:

Either place the right fingertips in the centre of the left palm and left finger tips in the centre of the right palm simultaneously, or place the thumb in the palm of the opposite hand. 


This hold can help the following:
